The Nine Star Story
It is always a bit sad once the Christmas season is over. There isn’t much to look forward to other than the new year during December. Christmas morning was really nice; my eldest sister’s kids had the most fun. I’m looking forward to the next year and have a big resolution & project planned

I was working on this all day after my last final yesterday. It turned out nice, but the tiny bits of visible glue looks messy.
I finished working on my octopus sculpture this everything. I’m a bit happy with the way it turned out, but it’s not my best work. It is painted with hibiscus tea and a small amount of red acrylic. Today was also the last day of classes for the semester. I have finals on Thursday and next Monday; let’s hope for the best.
My research paper is about 80% complete; it needs more supporting information. We also put up our family Christmas tree. I will have to put up my tree once I get back into San Marcos.
We had an alright Thanksgiving dinner this year. My dad had to work during the day, but we had the big meal during lunch and then when he got home we ate again. I’m thankful for my family, DeAnna, friends, education, and life.

I started to attempt making a monogram for myself a few months ago. I’ve tried many styles and motifs that I have used in the past, but nothing has ever worked. My initials CPC became a problem visually. The rounded beginning is great, but then it the openness at the end looks odd. I gave up trying to get around this aspect and embraced it. The lowercase letters were used because I felt it was more playful than capitals. It doesn’t look as great by itself; some work is still needed on the c and p. The monogram will be in the next design.
I believe I did great on the quiz, but I didn’t read the bonus questions correctly so I bet my teacher will think I’m dumb; they’re only bonus questions. Afterwards I had “Victory Chili”, and watched The Clone Wars. It was an alright movie — I think better than the reviews I’ve read. I don’t think the plot could stand on its own, but I guess thats what the TV show is for. It was a lot of graphics and heroic poses. I’ll start watching the television series.
I just found this band called Alestorm, and play what they call “True Scottish Pirate Metal.” It gives a mix of sea shanties and power metal that I enjoy. “Wolves of the Sea” is a good example, and my favorite song.
Mind mapping is something that I never thought would help me brainstorm, but recently I’ve been planning projects with this process. I’m starting to believe that it helps the flow of thinking better than what I have been doing, which is making lists. This is very progressive for me because making lists on the computer have become useless. A great online app is MindMeister, but hopefully I can switch to a desktop app like Mind Manager. There are a few free apps but Mind Manager nicer design.
